A dynamic new exhibition has been unveiled at the British Golf Museum to
celebrate the ' St Andrews Open Championships 1946-2005' . This exciting
display coincides with The Open Championship being held in St Andrews in July
2005.
The exhibition focuses on three aspects of The Open - the players, the prizes,
and the people who come to watch. ' The Claret Jug and its Champions '
displays one of the five replica Claret Jugs and the other lesser known prizes
awarded at The Open.
'St Andrews Winners' relives the excitement of the winners of The
Open and amongst other notable memorabilia, you will see Tiger Woods' shirt
from The Open 2000, the glove worn by John Daly in 1995, Nick Faldo's shirt
from 1990 and Ken Nagle's driver and putter from his victory in 1960.
'The Open Experience' allows you to discover in what year it cost
the equivalent of £1-50 to watch a whole week of Championship golf and
find out when the BBC first televised coverage of The Open. And don't forget
to find out how every golfer's old foe, the weather, has affected the players
and their scores over the last 60 years.
You can watch highlights of each of the St Andrews Opens since 1946 on the
Museum's stunning new interactive displays, which are adjacent to the 'St
Andrews Open Championships 1946-2005' Exhibition.
