The British Golf Museum unveils a fascinating new exhibition to the public this week on Golf and its Olympic History.

At a time when golf may be returning to the Olympics, the British Golf Museum is exploring the history of the popular sport in the Games.

The first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896 and golf was included from 1900 to 1908. This colourful new display explores golf in the Olympics through the competitors and their memorabilia. Key objects on display include the driver used by Walter Rutherford of Jedburgh Golf Club who finished second in the 1900 Games, and the ornate 1904 Games runner up trophy. Also on display is the beautifully detailed silver medal which would have been awarded in the 1908 Games, had golf not been withdrawn from the event at the last minute. You can find out more about the history of the 1908 Games in this fascinating exhibition.

Also at the museum from Saturday 5th September on, we are offering special discounts across a wide range of our shop products. There are gifts for everyone in our sale, from books to golf gear to teddy bears!

Come to the British Golf Museum and take the perfect break from playing golf.
