To celebrate the 16th Birthday of the British Golf Museum we are welcoming visitors into the museum for FREE on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th September.

We are celebrating 16 years of innovation at this 5 star award winning museum.

After officially opening to great critical acclaim on 19th September 1990, the museum won 7 major awards and is currently one of only 9 museums to have been awarded 5 stars under the Scottish Tourist Board's Visitor Attractions Grading Scheme.

For a limited time see the world famous painting of The Golfers by Charles Lees, on display until the end of September. Visit our 4 new exhibition spaces: The Open Championship since 1946, International Team Events, the Cabinet of Curiosities and our R&A Room. Watch rare black and white golf footage dating from the turn of the last century and enjoy highlights of The Open Championship from 1923 onwards. Imaginative displays and stunning interactives will add to your enjoyment of the museum and its amazing collections.

A visit to the British Golf Museum will make the perfect break from playing golf.
